Babes in Boyland Productions was born when Sharon, Linda and Terie Clement – writers and movie lovers all – gathered over mochas and Italian sodas in April 2001 after viewing a bevy of shorts at the KC Filmmakers Jubilee. After a “What if …” moment and an inventory of our respective skills and resources, we decided to go for it and make our own movie. We  realized our cinematic goal when Bra - a lingerie tale, our first film, was screened at the 2002 Jubilee.

Today's Babes Sharon and Linda – continue to make short films while writing full-length screenplays.

Sharon Chapman - editor of the XL entertainment guide for the Austin American-Statesman, Sharon's the former pop culture writer and assistant features editor for The Kansas City Star. Sharon wrote and directed Agent Jim, and co-wrote and co-directed Bra. She's also worked on many short films made by her Independent Filmmakers Coalition colleagues. Sharon’s now writing 2 full-length screenplays – a sequel to Agent Jim and a dramedy.

Sharon served two years as chair of Crosscut: Women Making Movies, a premier symposium of the KC Filmmakers Jubilee, which brings notable women filmmakers to Kansas City.

Linda Wiedmaier – independent writer, editor, consultant and video producer for online, print and multimedia; see www.LindaWiedmaier.com.

In her reel life, Linda produced Agent Jim and Bra. Current projects include post-production on The Lost Kid, directing her short screenplay Trio, and writing a full-length western (yee-haw!) and a screenplay that combines suspense with dreams deferred. She

is also serving as pre-production manager and unit production manager for Ministry Machine Productions' horror/suspense feature film "The Last Breath" and as co-producer/line producer for Flaming Angel Films' documentary "RISK: At-Risk Girls Behind the Camera." She's co-produced commercials for Breakthrough Marketing+Design+Technology and Flaming Angel Films.

Linda's also been active in the greater KC film scene, spreading the love around in positions for the Independent Filmmakers Coalition, the KC Filmmakers Jubilee and the Kansas International Film Festival,  and on filmmaker panels. As an Action/Cut alum, she's learned the processes for putting passions into productions.
